Janosik’s Via Ferrata & traditional raft

Juraj Jánošík is the slovak Robin Hood. During the 17th century, he stole from the rich and gave to the poor. His “holes” are in reality mountains and canyons where our national hero was hiding when in danger. This hike will take us along a stream through a wild forest. At least 3 hours are needed to climb all the ladders and chains which await you on the way. It is one of the most impressive hikes in Slovakia.

There are 2 possible scenarios during the afternoon:
– Quite unique is the ride in traditional wooden rafts on the Vah river. They were already used in the 13th century to rapidly transport wood and goods like salt from Poland. The raft’s captain will tell you more about this tradition while you enjoy the surrounding landscapes.
– Visit of the medieval castle of Orava, built on the top of a 112 meter (367 ft) high natural rock formation. It is one of the most beautifully preserved castles in Europe.

Transport by car or minibus included.

Terchova is located 2 hours from Bratislava.

Hiking shoes are needed.
