Modra: Ceramic and slovak wine

Welcome to the wine-making region of Small Carpathians. Just half and hour from Bratislava through wineyards and small villages, we’ll arrive to Modra, the charming capital of wine.

Pottery workshop
Our day starts with the visit of a traditional 150 year-old pottery workshop. Every piece of ceramic is still handmade by one of their artists and all slovak families own at least one in their homes. You’ll be amazed by the details and their history.

Wine tasting
The tasting will take place in a selected Slovak wine producer. After a visit of the complex, including a tower to contemplate the surrounding region and the presentation of the wine making process (produced on-site), the sommelier will proceed to the tasting of 6 great wines.
“Hunter plates”, Slovak cheese and home-made bread will be served accordingly with the wine.
For groups smaller than 10 persons, the tasting will occur in a special cave where the best wines are preserved – the wine archive.
Although not very renowned outside the country, Slovak wines earns each year numerous medals for its quality.

A cheaper alternative is wine tasting in a small wine cave.
