Just a 15-minute drive from Bratislava city centre, the Small Carpathians mark the beginning of one of Europe’s longest mountain ranges. This forest playground literally borders the city and is a favourite weekend escape for locals. The Carpathian Bushcraft Survival Course is a 2-hour hands-on experience designed to awaken your inner survivor. Perfect as a team-building and group bonding activity, whether you’re a group of old friends, a mixed bachelor party crew, or simply looking for something different from the usual city fun. No outdoor experience? No problem. The session is designed to be fun, accessible, and interactive — stepping outside your comfort zone is exactly what makes it unforgettable. And naturally, the bachelor can expect the toughest challenges. Your professional instructor — a true forest man — will guide you through essential survival techniques and show you the practical skills needed to handle the wilderness. Here is a list of the skills you will learn:

Shelter building

First off, you’ll learn how to build a simple but necessary shelter with what the nature has provided.

Getting food and water

Animals are at home in the forest and you’ll need to defend as well as feed yourself. You’ll learn how to throw axes and knives on bears and build traps for smaller animals and wild boars. If you are unsuccessful (or you are a lost vegetarian), you’ll need help from plants. Your guide will help you identify the edible and the poisonous berries, mushrooms and insects. The bachelor should try some of them for his own sake 🙂

Fire!

Making a fire without matches/lighter is another task that you will have to master if you have to sleep in the forest and cook the animals that you captured.

Getting out

Finally, you’ll lean how to orientate yourself in the forest and find the north without a compass. This skill is probably the most important to exit the forest and find the closest pub!
